River runs at Wombramurra Station above Chaffey Dam
John Sylvester lives up in the hills above Nundle where they make the water for Chaffey Dam. In fact, he’s one of those graziers high up at the Head of the Peel where when the rain comes down, it actually often finds its way all the way down to Tamworth’s main supply dam. From The Northern Daily Leader archives, a story sharing the importance of the health of The Peel River headwaters in The Great Dividing Range and Liverpool Range at Hanging Rock, to Tamworth’s water supply. Protecting the headwaters of the Peel, Hunter, and Barnard/Manning Rivers is a priority for Hills of Gold Preservation. https://www.northerndailyleader.com.au/story/4113369/meet-the-rainmakers/
